When people come together for a common goal, something incredible happens. In the life of every Ukrainian, Easter is a particularly revered and majestic holiday that encourages each of us to reflect on spiritual and moral values. This is the time when we feel the need to turn our thoughts and feelings into good deeds, to share the joy of Easter with those in difficult life situations. This is especially true in today’s complex reality, when many people need our attention and support.
As part of the project “Development of social service to unite communities to support IDPs and vulnerable groups in parishes”, Caritas Zhovkva UGCC together with dedicated volunteers organised a special Easter event called “Easter Touch of Kindness”. This initiative was aimed at visiting people who are in helpless old age, serious illness and loneliness, and have no close family.
Volunteers delivered 120 Easter hampers to palliative care units in Rava Ruska, Zhovkva and Zabolottsi. Each set was filled with delicious goodies and sincere wishes for a happy holiday. Meetings with the recipients not only warmed their hearts with warmth and joy, but also created unique moments of joy.
This campaign has become a light of hope for many people who need not only financial support but also attention and care. It showed that small actions can make a big difference in the lives of others. Such events not only change our perception of the world, but also encourage similar actions and expand the circle of support for those who need it most.
CF “Caritas Zhovkva UGCC” remains faithful to its vocation – to provide support and assistance to those who need it most, and strives to achieve community cohesion and development to support all vulnerable groups in the parishes. We believe that every good deed done with love and care makes our world a better place for ourselves and for others.
